MIX Roma

MIX Roma, since November 2023 in Cloud Europe, the carrier-neutral Tier IV data centre located in the Tecnopolo Tiburtino, the hi-tech district for ICT services in the Capital, designed to host further data centres and, from October 2024, in Aruba IT4.

The PoP in Rome is the first in Lazio and, as the ones in Sicily and Emilia-Romagna, it is configured as an independent and local IXP.

It’s aimed at:

• offering all operators an integrative and diversified public interconnection platform, able to strengthen the reliability of the local ecosystem and accelerate traffic growth;
• increasing the peering offer with 270 new networks now available in the Capital via remote peering, for ISPs not interconnected in Milan.

The activation of this new IX is in line with the decentralisation process undertaken by MIX, motivated on the one hand by the need to facilitate and incentivise the exchange of data at a local level and, on the other, by the availability of high-performance data centres able to attract content and networks.
