This anniversary underscores MIX’s strategic role as a cornerstone of the country’s digital infrastructure and a key interconnection platform, looking to the future with ambitious projects and a strong commitment to innovation.

Since 2000, MIX has played a central role in Italy’s digital transformation, delivering interconnection services to companies across all sectors while ensuring top performance, unmatched reliability, and internationally certified security standards. MIX provides its services with comprehensive national coverage, operates in the country’s main data centers, and manages five active IX edges. These edges are designed to bring data closer to users, reduce latency, and enhance the overall digital experience.

Today, MIX connects over 420 networks through its switches, with internet traffic peaks reaching 3 Tbps and strong volume growth recorded in 2024. Its dual data center infrastructure, boasting a total capacity of 17 Tbps, is capable of handling traffic loads up to six times higher, meeting the growing demand for connectivity with strength and strategic foresight.

MIX’s significance is reflected in its numbers: with 19 shareholders, including the leading national telecom operators, MIX exemplifies a virtuous model. To mark this important anniversary, the company is announcing the inauguration of DC3, a new expansion data room within its historic data center located in the Caldera business park in Milan. With DC3, the data center now spans 1,400 m² and offers a maximum power capacity of 2 MW, providing Italian businesses with a state-of-the-art space to meet the growing demand for interconnection services.
